Aloha and welcome to my website. i put this website together to let people know a little about me. I am a musical producer / arranger / musical director / piano player/....(whatever else needs doing) and I grew up, live and work in beautiful Kailua on the windward side of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. I have been in the music business here for 30+ years and Iʻve played the disco circuit, done the shows, lived in recording studios during the day and performed at night. Doing whatever I could to just be surrounded with music. Currently I am involved with producing my own musical journeys and helping friends realize theirs.
I have two projects on the market. One is "Cloud Warriors" with the wise kumu from Maui, Keliʻi Tauʻā and the other one is "Pele's Dream" with the beautiful Melinda Caroll. For more information and to purchase these go to www.tiki-records.com
Feel free to browse the pages, listen to the music, look at the pictures and just hang out.
This site is currently in development so "some stoffs no work yet." Bear with me and check back later.

Song Programming
Programming used to be called sequencing in the old days. Itʻs the process of using synthesizers to emulate or mimic instruments in the band or orchestra. Each part is played and the performance is recorded into your computer using a DAW, (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Logic, Performer, Garageband etc. After you have recorded all the parts, effects are added and the whole thing is mixed down to a 2 track stereo file. This file is what the CD is made from. So what I do is, I take a song and create the instrumental bed for the singer to sing over. The possibilities are endless.
Vocal Arrangements
Growing up in Hawaiʻi you canʻt escape the choral singing and harmonies that dominate music here in Hawaiʻi.
Orchestral Arrangements
The most exiting type of arranging is orchestral arranging. There are no bounds. Their are so many instruments that anything is possible.
Current Projects
Girl Scouts
Currently Iʻm working with Melinda Caroll on her Girl scout CD number 11. For all the Daisies.
Mastering
Eric Conn just got through mastering my new CD "Hōkū". Eric has his own mastering company in Nashville called ʻIndependent Masteringʻ. Check out his website www.independentmastering.com
Studio
I say 'my studio' but itʻs not really a studio. Itʻs a control room with a sauna / vocal booth / guest bedroom connected by a video feed. We have to stop recording when the school bell next door goes off, but other than that itʻs a real studio. This is more of a disclaimer than anything else. Itʻs worked so far. I just donʻt want the tadan tadanʻs (high brow people) to come in and say, "Dis not one real studio". If you want a real ʻno windowʻ life sucking studio, look in the yellow pages. This is an alternative, open air, totally laid back version of a ʻrealʻ studio, in a totally funky little beach community a block from one of the greatest beaches on the planet Earth. Kailua Beach!!!
