Services

Song Programming

logic
Programming used to be called sequencing in the old days. It's the process of using synthesizers to emulate or mimic instruments in the band or orchestra. Each part is played and the performance is recorded into your computer using a DAW, (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Logic, Performer, Garageband etc. After you have recorded all the parts, effects are added and the whole thing is mixed down to a 2 track stereo file. This file is what the CD is made from. So what I do is, I take a song and create the instrumental bed for the singer to sing over. The possibilities are endless.

Vocal Arrangements

Growing up in Hawaiʻi you canʻt escape the choral singing and harmonies that dominate music here in Hawaiʻi.

Orchestral Arrangements

The most exciting type of arranging is orchestral arranging. There are no bounds. There are so many instruments that anything is possible.

AmericaArtist / Arranger / Programmer / Engineer
I did this arrangement for somebody, I can't remember who, in the 90's I think. I just updated it in 2011 and turned it into a piano solo.
Hula Leʻaleʻa MakouArtist / Arranger / Programmer / Engineer
Here is a song that was written in 2010 by Keliʻi Tauʻā and myself for a hula CD that Ken Makuakane was doing. This is the demo that we did.
CelebrateArranger / Programmer / Engineer
Here is a song from 2009 that Roslyn Catracchia wrote for the Dentist ADA convention that was in town. It was a major production with the Polynesian Cultural Center. This is part of the finale.
Can, No CanArtist / Composer / Programmer / Engineer
In 2008 I was approached by Marlene Booth to score a documentary that she and Kanalu Young were working on about pidgin english. This is the opening song from "Pidgin: The Voice of Hawaiʻi"
Ha'iku RainbowArtist / Arranger / Programmer / Engineer
This song is from "Cloud Warriors", a CD by Keliʻi Tauʻā and myself. This is the lead cut and speaks of the beautiful silver-grayish night rainbow that appears during the twilight hours in upcountry Maui.
Hawai'i PonoīArranger
In 1997 I arranged this song for Disguyz to sing at the Pro Bowl. Itʻs a 5 part a capella version. It went over really well and the guys kept singing it. This recording is off of their album "Believe In Us".
PeleArranger / Programmer
In 1994 Loyal Garner released an album entitled "I Shall Sing". "Pele" was one of the songs on that album. It is a great example of the melding of ancient and contemporary themes. Loyalʻs sister Alicia Smith is chanting beneath the driving beat.
Once In A WhileArranger / Programmer / Engineer
In 2004 First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu put on a musical written by Roslyn Catracchia and Jeannie Edwards entitled "Noah". I arranged and programmed all the songs for the show. This is a song that is sung by the lead character Rosemary played by Kauʻionalani Mead.
Christmas In ParadiseArranger / Programmer / Engineer
2005 brought the "Christmas Gift of Aloha." A production by ʻOhiʻa Productions at Ala Moanaʻs Center Stage during the Christmas shopping season. Here is one of the songs off of the cast CD featuring Brian Yamasaki.
